Be Happy!

I wish to everyone a wonderful Christmas full of surprises! Enjoy this days with the ones you like more and try to re-fill batteries for an even better 2009 ;)
I'm going to try to do the same because next week I'm traveling to S. Pedro de Moel for a Christmas training camp with the famous Czech trainer Radek Novotný!

Review over the Iberic Championships

Last weekend (6th and 7th of December) the town Indanha-a-Nova hosted the XVI Iberic Championships. This year Portugal won in the general classification in both Male and Female classes =)

Saturday morning: Middle Distance
The terrain was very nice mostly in open areas with many rocks, some details and green areas that maked it very challenging.
The map had some problems and that fact made me loose some time during my course. The high fog contributed a lot to some errors too.

Results H20 (5,1km):

1 - Luis Nogueira Muela ESPANHA 42:22
2 - Jorge Fortunato PORTUGAL 46:04
3 - Juan M Merida E
SPANHA 47:30
4 - Tiago Romão
PORTUGAL 48:38

Saturday afternoon - Sprint:
The Sprint was in Indanha-a-Nova and combined the small roads with some gardens and little paths.
I've done a perfect race almost with no errors.

Results H20(3,3km):

1 - Jorge Fortunato PORTUGAL 17:50
2 - Tiago Romão
PORTUGAL 17:53
3 - Luis Nogueira Muela ESPANHA 19:42
Juan M Merida ESPANHA mp

Sunday - Long Distance

The long distance terrain was much more faster and easier. Almost all course was in open areas also with some rocky parts and some walls and fences.
I've done just a mistake to the 2nd control where i was navigating with no sure and i found myself in the 3rd control. The tireness in the last part of the course made me loose some time to the 19th control too.

Results H20 (10,1 km):

1 - Jorge Fortunato PORTUGAL 59:24

2 - Luis Nogueira Muela ESPANHA 1:01:59
3 - Juan M Merida
ESPANHA 1:03:42
4 - Tiago Romão PORTUGAL 1:17:54
